NAMI Alameda County African American Family Support Group:

NAMI Alameda County South Alameda County Family Support Group:

NAMI East Bay Family Support Group:

NAMI Tri-Valley Parent Resource and Support Group:
First & third Tuesdays of the month, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A twice-a-month support group for parents with children diagnosed with or suspected of having bipolar or other mood disorders. Family & Caregiver Support Group:
First Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Meets at the FERC Main Office at 7200 Bancroft Ave. Suite 269, Oakland 94605. Park on the east side of the Eastmont Town Center (once Eastmont Mall) in the McDonald's area parking lot. Enter through entrance 'E' to the right of the Oakland Police Dept. substation. Berkeley Bipolar Support Group:

Berkeley Families Support Group:

Family Caregivers of Older Adults with Mental Illness:

Chinese-Language Family Support Groups:
Family Support for Healthy Minds-Mandarin and Cantonese speaking families meet one Saturday each month from 10am-noon. Meetings are held at 523-8th Street in Oakland. Call 510-522-0924 for more information.
Faith-based Support Group: 'Hope for Hurting Families & Friends' 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month, 7-9 at Crosswinds Church, 6444 Sierra Ct., Rm 104, Dublin. Kaiser Family Education and Support Group:
6 week series, 5:30-7pm, 3900 Broadway, Oakland. Call Cathy Farrell at 510-752-6714 to pre-register. Not a drop-in group. Individual must be a Kaiser member to attend this group.
Family/Caregiver/Provider Support Group:

Support groups in Alameda County for people who have a mental illness:
NEW! NAMI Tri-Valley "Connection Recovery" - Every Sunday Afternoon 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A once-a-weeksupport group led by facilitator-trained peers for persons living with or self-identifying as having a mental illness. The groups are held weekly and are drop-in with no registration required. There is no cost. Location: Multi-Service Center Conference Room, 3311 Pacific Ave., Livermore. This listing of support groups is published by NAMI Alameda County which is an organization of relatives-parents, spouses, siblings and children of people who have a serious mental illness. NAMI Alameda County provides information, education and mutual support to families in Alameda County. It holds educational meetings on the second Thursday of each month beginning at 7:30pm at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley. NAMI Alameda County also publishes the monthly Families Advocate newsletter. NAMI Alameda County is a program of the Mental Health Association of Alameda County.
