Suicide Prevention Workshop for Families

If your loved one has thoughts of killing themselves, what can a family do to protect them in the months before an attempt.  We will present ways to maximize the chances for life before the crisis comes.

The Family Education and Resource Center in partnership with NAMI Tri-Valley  and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be hosting a 1-day informative educational Suicide Prevention Workshop for family caregivers. This workshop is at no cost.

The workshop is for families that have a relative with a serious and persistent mental illness and at risk of suicide. You will learn about statistics, facts and basic information; how to communicate with someone that is contemplating suicide; learn about the suicide risk in youth, hear from a police officer on 5150s and know the importance of self-care.
